So I am going to be subjecting myself to an unreasonable amount of torture for the next year.
"Why! Why would you do that!"
"Because! Because it has gone on to long! The media! it is destroying the universe and no one is stopping it! Ahhhhhh!"
But no seriously I am tired of hearing all the fads and crazes that are constantly being thrown in our faces. All the studies that run us around in circles. "Walking will save your life"
"No it wont it will kill you"
"Eat this it is a miracle cure"
"No it isn't it causes cancer!"
"Then how about this"
"We can't think of anything but we are going to say no to it anyway!"
shhhhhhh shhhhh *puts pillow over media's face* shh be quiet now go to sleep and when you do all will be right once more in the world.
fuck the media. lets go back to the basics. your body needs food, you eat, your body burns the fuel. the question is wich is better, and the answer is - i have no fucking clue that is what i am doing right now so shut up. Me and Gwen will be doing a Modern VS Palio face off! size wise were different but fitness wise we are actually pretty similar.
I am going to be eating in a Paleolithic manner because it is the closest diet to my current one. However I have made changes to it. Why? Because I am beginning to wonder if they know anything about archaeology or if they are just assuming with the knowledge that they remember hearing in 4th grade.
The no grain rule is the one I am calling bullshit on. Early Paleolithic people ate grain. Asians had figured out very early that rice is good. Native Americans were finding (and growing) corn on a regular basis. Northern Europeans were eating wild oats more then they were eating leafy greens.
That said, I am not eating wheat, (due to health reasons) potatoes (that was a later one so no) and I am really cutting back on corn, (the stuff we have now is a lot different then what we eat now. Probably one of the closest things that is still available is stone ground grits). The only thing I am not going to cut down on is rice
Gwen has it way easier she just eats and does a calorie count.
we will bot be keep track of calories, water, exercise, and sleep (basics!)
calories (food) - stay around 2,000
water - aim for 9 cups
exercise - 1 hour (even if it is just wondering around the house cleaning just getting up is the goal
sleep - 8 hours a night
All in all - wish us luck because this is going to suck but I will keep with it if nothing but for my own curiosity.
